Hassan's Story

Basher is the son of two Palestinian refugees, a heritage that instilled in him a deep sense of resilience and a commitment to justice. As a proud product of Gwinnett County, Basher graduated from Berkmar High School before earning his psychology degree from the University of Georgia in just three years. He then obtained his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law, where he also earned a Health Law Certificate.

Before attending law school, Basher managed a doctor's office in Alpharetta, working closely with medical professionals and insurance companies. This experience highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, a skill he further developed as a Student Attorney at GSU's Health Law Partnership (HeLP) Clinic. There, he represented children and families from low-income backgrounds on various legal matters, ranging from childhood disability cases to drafting wills and advanced directives.

Professional Career

Basher Hassan is the Senior Associate Attorney at The Awad Law Firm, where he specializes in personal injury law, focusing on car accidents and serious injury cases. Since joining the Georgia Bar in 2021, Basher has been instrumental in recovering over eight figures in settlements for injured clients across Georgia and surrounding states. His approach combines strategic negotiations with compassionate client advocacy, ensuring that each client feels supported throughout their legal journey.

Basher's journey with The Awad Law Firm began in 2018 as a summer intern. His dedication and hard work led to his current role as Senior Associate Attorney. He is fluent in English and speaks functional Arabic, allowing him to connect with a diverse clientele.

Hobbies and interests

Outside the courtroom, Basher enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing chess, and participating in sports like basketball, football, and most recently pickleball. He is also an avid fantasy football enthusiast. Basher is one of four siblings, and hopes to see a day where his new nephew and future kids see a Free Palestine one day.
